How Do I Forward Calls to an External Number

How do I forward calls from my Cisco IP phone to an external number, such as a personal cellphone?

  • Environment: Cisco IP Phone

Call Forwarding allows you to redirect all incoming calls from your Cisco IP Phone to another number.

Note: Users can forward to a number that is long distance as of 3/18/20.

Forward All Calls

  1. Press the CFwdALL soft key (you will hear two beeps).
  2. Dial the 4-digit extension to which all calls will be forwarded, OR
  3. Dial the external number to which all calls will be forwarded (e.g., your cell phone).
    • External number should be 9 + 7 digit local number OR 9 + 1 + area code + 7 digit number
  4. Dial the number exactly as you would normally dial it if you were placing a call.
Note: After you enter the number, an animated phone icon with a flashing right arrow appears in the upper-right corner of the LCD screen. The LCD also displays a message confirming the number or extension to which your calls are being forwarded.

Cancel Forward All Calls

  1. Press the CFwdALL soft key (you will hear two beeps).
Note: The flashing right arrow on the LCD display will disappear indicating that Call Forwarding has been deactivated.
