How do I forward calls from my Cisco IP phone (or Jabber) to an external number, such as a personal cell phone?

Information

Call Forwarding allows you to redirect all incoming calls from your Cisco IP Phone to another number.

 

Answer

From Cisco IP Phone

Forward All Calls

  1. Press the CFwdALL soft key (you will hear two beeps).
  2. Dial the 4-digit extension to which all calls will be forwarded, OR
  3. Dial the external number to which all calls will be forwarded (e.g., your cell phone).
    • External number should be 9 + 7 digit local number OR 9 + 1 + area code + 7 digit number
  4. Dial the number exactly as you would normally dial it if you were placing a call.

Cancel Forward All Calls

  1. Press the CFwdALL soft key (you will hear two beeps).

 

From Cisco Jabber

Forward All Calls

  1. Click Call Settings icon
  2. Click drop down under Forward Calls
  3. Select New number...
    1. After setup, can select existing number from drop down
  4. Type the 4-digit extension to which all calls will be forwarded, OR
  5. Type the external number to which all calls will be forwarded (e.g., your cell phone).
    • External number should be 9 + 7 digit local number OR 9 + 1 + area code + 7 digit number
  6. Click Forward

Cancel Forward All Calls

  1. Click Click to turn off
