Note: To safeguard institutional data and secure unattended devices, IT has established new screen timeout standards for campus computers:
Screen Timeout Standards:
- Office Computers: 5 minutes
- Multimedia and Lab Stations: 20 minutes (Not eligible for extensions)
Resolution
Users can view their power options by following the below steps.
- Access Control Panel
- Click by Start Menu and type Control Panel
- Click Hardware and Sound
- Click Power Options
- On the left hand side click Choose what closing the lid does
- Change the option in the When I close Lid row and Plugged In column to do nothing
