Issue
Students are encountering problems with an exam in Respondus LockDown Browser, often receiving an error message indicating a problem with the LockDown Browser settings for the specific exam. Additionally, both students and instructors may report functionality concerns with the exam.
Example error message:
"There is a problem with the LockDown Browser settings for this exam. The instructor needs to use the LockDown Browser "dashboard" to enable the settings for this exam.
Environment
- Blackboard
- Respondus LockDown Browser
Resolution
These errors commonly occur when instructors make changes to the Blackboard test or its options after enabling the LockDown Browser requirement for the exam. Any alterations made to the exam after this activation can disrupt the connection between LockDown Browser and the exam in Blackboard. It's crucial to avoid making changes once the LockDown Browser requirement is enabled. If modifications are necessary, disable the requirement first, make the changes, and then re-enable LockDown Browser for the exam.
