Viewing a SafeAssign Originality Report

Question

How do I view a SafeAssign Originality Report for an assignment I submitted.

Information

SafeAssign is a plagiarism detection tool that is used in Blackboard. When you submit an assignment with SafeAssignment enabled, a report will be generated that shows the percentage of text that matches other sources.  The higher the percentage match, the more likely the assignment has been copied from other sources. 

Answer

1. Log in to Blackboard.
2. Go to the course where you submitted the assignment.
3. Click on Grades. 
4. Click the assignment on the My Grades page. 
5. Locate the Assignment Details column to the left and under ATTEMPT, click the SafeAssign link. 
6. Under SafeAssign Submission, click View Originality Report. 
7. A separate browser window will open with the report findings. Highlighted text indicates that it was taken from another source.  Reference the Sources column to the right for a detailed breakdown.  

Additional Information

• If the SafeAssign link is missing, the instructor has not enabled the SafeAssign feature for the assignment.  
• If the View Originality Report is missing, the instructor has excluded the assignment from the global database the checks for plagiarism.
