Install GlobalProtect VPN On Campus

Information

This guide explains how to install the GlobalProtect Portal (VPN) software on a GRCC-owned computer. This software is required to access secure campus resources (such as internal drives and specialized software) while working from home.

Note: Most GRCC laptops already have this software pre-installed. These steps are intended for users who cannot find the application on their device.

Requirement: You must be physically connected to the GRCC Campus Network (Ethernet or GRCC Secure Wi-Fi) to access the Software Center and download this installer.

Environment

  • Campus Network (On-campus connection required for install)
  • GlobalProtect Portal (Palo Alto) VPN
  • GRCC-owned Windows Devices

Process

Installation via Software Center

  1. On your GRCC computer, open the Start Menu and type Software Center, then press Enter.
  2. On the Applications tab, look for GlobalProtect.
    • Tip: If you don't see it immediately, use the search bar in the upper-right corner and type "GlobalProtect".
  3. Click on the GlobalProtect icon.
  4. Click the Install button.
    • The installation may take up to 10 minutes to complete.
    • If prompted, please restart your computer to finalize the installation.
