Question
What is a retiree account, what are my options, and are there limitations?
Environment
- Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite)
Answer
Upon retiring from GRCC, staff and faculty will now have the ability to request a Golden Raider email account to allow retirees to continue communicating with past and present GRCC faculty and staff. To opt-in, simply contact your Human Resources representative to get the process started. Some information to note about the account:
- Your former @grcc.edu email address will remain the same, however, the suffix will change to @retiree.grcc.edu
- E.g. jillmcnutt@grcc.edu will now be jillmcnutt@retiree.grcc.edu
- For current GRCC employees with a scheduled retirement date:
- GRCC data from your @grcc.edu email account will be migrated to your @retiree.grcc.edu email account after your retirement has been processed.
- Your last working campus network passphrase (password) will be the passphrase to your retiree account
- For passphrase assistance, please contact IT Services at (616) 234-4357
- An alias to your @grcc.edu account will be added to your retiree email address to ensure retirees will continue to receive GRCC Today notices, President's Office messages, and emergency communications
- You may opt-out of your retiree email account at any time, simply contact Human Resources
- Retiree email accounts that have not been accessed in a two year period will be removed.
Note: Any content stored in Google Drive or received in your GRCC Gmail account as an employee will be available to your retiree account. It is expected that you keep these email communications confidential.
If you choose to return to GRCC in another capacity your account will be renamed back into a @grcc.edu account with your @retiree.grcc.edu account as an alias. All data will still be available after the transition.
