What is a retiree account, what are my options, and are there limitations?

Answer
Upon retiring from GRCC, staff and faculty have the ability to request a Golden Raider retiree email account to continue communicating with GRCC colleagues. To opt in, contact your Human Resources representative to begin the process.
Some information to note about the account:
- A brand-new account will be created using the format:
firstname.lastname@retiree.grcc.edu
- Your former @grcc.edu staff account will remain inactive but intact in case you return to GRCC in any capacity.
- No data is migrated from your staff account to the retiree account.
- This includes email, Google Drive, calendar, and contacts.
- The retiree account does includes access to a new Google Drive.
- Please notify your contacts in advance of your new email address, as messages sent to your former @grcc.edu address will not be delivered once the account is deactivated.
- Before retirement, you must download or transfer any information you wish to keep from your staff account (see related articles in the lower right) .
- You may opt-out of your retiree email account at any time, simply contact Human Resources
- Retiree email accounts that have not been accessed in a two year period will be removed.

Note: Once you leave the college, your access to your former staff account, email, calendar, and Drive will end.
If you return to GRCC in another capacity, your former staff account will be reactivated, and you will retain access to your retiree account.
