MyGRCC Account Disabled

Question

Why am I getting an account disabled message when I log into a campus computer?

 

Environment

  • Active Directory
  • Campus Computers

 

Answer

Possible reasons for your account to be disabled:

  • Older accounts will get locked out. Your account will be disabled after one year of discontinuing courses at GRCC.
  • Trolling bots that attempt to log in in to accounts and fail repeatedly can cause an account to be disabled.
  • Users that try to log in multiple times with an expired passphrase (password).
  • Saving the passphrase within a browser for GRCC Wireless - it attempts until it locks the account (expired)
  • The MyGRCC portal will prompt for to update your passphrase when it expires.
