Microsoft 365 error code 700003: Your organization has deleted this device

Issue

User is trying to use or sign into one of their Microsoft 365 applications and encounters an error message. It might say that they don't have access or "Your organization has deleted this device" and include the error code 700003.

Environment

  • Microsoft 365

Information

This behavior is expected because devices are disabled in the Microsoft 365 GRCC student tenant.

If the student clicked “use this account to sign into all services” when signing in, their GRCC email may have been linked to their Microsoft Windows account on their device.

Also, if a student was using the desktop OneDrive app, they will need to access files through a web browser. Students should be encouraged to use Google Drive as it is the college’s standard cloud storage.

Resolution

On user's device

  1. Click the Start Menu (Windows icon ) in the lower left or lower center of the screen.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Accounts
    • If you do not see Accounts, click the 3 lines in the upper left hand corner of the settings window. Accounts should be listed in the middle of the list.
  4. Click Access work or school.
  5. Click Remove to remove student email address.

After following the above steps, user may sign back into any Office 365 app using the GRCC email. After entering credentials, a prompt may invite user to "use this account to sign into all services" but they must be sure to select this app only, instead.

Cause

The student likely chose "use this account to sign into all services" instead of “this app only" when signing into one of the apps. Or they may have signed into the desktop version of OneDrive.
