How do I install the LockDown Browser Extension on a Chromebook and use it with Canvas?

Note: The Google Chrome Store is not available if signed into the Chromebook using your GRCC Student Email. Please sign into your Chromebook with a personal Gmail account.
- Sign into the Chromebook and launch Google Chrome.
- Download LockDown Browser on the Chrome Web Store page (opens in a new window).
- The extension is not searchable. The Chrome Web Store hyperlink must be used above.
- Within the Chrome Web Store, click Add to Chrome to install the extension.
- Sign into Canvas and navigate to the course with an exam that requires LockDown Browser.
- Click Begin to start the test. The LockDown Browser extension will start automatically in full screen mode.
- At the completion of the exam click OK to review the results.
- Once the test results have been reviewed, click the in the upper right corner of the LockDown Browser menu bar to exit full screen mode.
- Click Continue to exit the exam completion screen.
Known issues
- The LockDown Browser's Calculator and Spreadsheet features are not supported.
- The extended keyboard that includes symbols and special characters is not available.
- Instructors that have enabled the feature to Allow access to specific external web domains is not supported.
- GRCC IT Support does not provide support for managed Chromebooks. That is, Chromebooks that are managed by another institution.
