Installing LockDown Browser on a Windows Device

Question

How do I install Respondus LockDown Browser on my Windows device?

ALEKS Users: A specific version of Respondus is required for exams taken in ALEKS. Please visit the ALEKS Respondus LockDown Browser page (opens in a new window) to install the correct version.

Environment

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows (Personal Devices)
  • Software: Respondus LockDown Browser

Answer

Note: These steps are for personal student devices. If you are using a GRCC faculty or staff computer, you must install the software via the Software Center (opens in a new window).
  1. Navigate to the GRCC Respondus Installation Page (opens in a new window).
  2. Click DOWNLOAD. The installer file will begin downloading to your computer.
  3. Open your Downloads folder and double-click the installer package to begin the setup.
  4. If Windows asks to allow this app to make changes, enter your computer password (if required) and click Yes.
  5. Select your preferred language and click Next.
  6. Select "I accept the terms of the license agreement" and click Next.
  7. Once the installation is complete, click Finish.
  8. You can now find the LockDown Browser icon on your Desktop.
