Instructor Course Availability in Canvas

Issue

A class that I am suppose to teach for the upcoming semester is missing from my course list in Canvas.

 

Environment

  • Blackboard
  • PeopleSoft

 

Resolution

Reference the suggestions below.

  • Within Canvas, click Courses from the global navigation menu. Scroll down to Future Enrollments and verify the course is listed there. 
  • Verify the course is listed in your Online Faculty Center. 
  • Verify that it has been at least 15-30 minutes since the course has been assigned by your department. 
  • For-Credit/Non-Credit Canvas course shells are created 45 days before the semester start date as indicated in PeopleSoft. 
  • Continuity Canvas course shells are created 30 days before the course start date indicated in PeopleSoft.
  • New Faculty and Adjunct Faculty will have access to Canvas 45 days prior to their hire date by Human Resources.
  • Contact your department to determine if the course was properly assigned in PeopleSoft.  Your departments Support Professional should be able to assist.
