Instructor Course Availability in Blackboard

Issue

A class that I am suppose to teach for the upcoming semester is missing from my course list in Blackboard.

 

Environment

  • Blackboard
  • PeopleSoft

 

Resolution

Reference the suggestions below.

  • Within the Courses page, click Current Courses > Upcoming Courses and verify it is not listed there. 
  • Verify the course is listed in your Online Faculty Center. 
  • Verify that it has been at least 15-30 minutes since the course has been assigned by your department. 
  • For-Credit Blackboard course shells are created 45 days before the semester start date as indicated in PeopleSoft. 
  • Non-Credit Blackboard course shells are created 30 days before the course start date indicated in PeopleSoft.
  • New Faculty and Adjunct Faculty will have access to Blackboard 30 days prior to their hire date by Human Resources.
  • Contact your department to determine if the course was properly assigned in PeopleSoft.  Your departments Support Professional should be able to assist.
