Adobe Acrobat DC fails to install from Software Center

Issue

How to resolve an issue where Adobe Acrobat DC fails to install in Software Center. 

 

Environment

  • Windows 10
  • Software Center
  • Adobe Acrobat DC 
  • Panopto
  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint

 

Information

The user has installed Panopto from the Software Center, it starts a PowerPoint process which causes the Adobe Acrobat DC installer from Software Center to fail as it sees a PowerPoint process running.

 

Resolution

  1. Open Task Manager
    • Right click on task bar and select Task Manager 
    • or Click Ctrl+Shift+Esc on your keyboard
  2. Right Click the PowerPoint process
  3. Choose End Task
  4. Click Retry from Software Center, leaving the Task Manager open to verify PowerPoint doesn't reopen.
