Microsoft 365 portal automatically logged into Admin Center

Issue

When logging into Microsoft 365 for Education, an error message is received.  Your account (xxxxxxxx@email.grcc.edu) doesn’t have permission to view or manage this page in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Information

After logging in to the Microsoft 365 portal, users are being redirected to the Microsoft 365 Administration Center. 

Resolution

1. In the top left hand corner, select the App Launcher.
2. Within the App Launcher, click Microsoft 365 on the top right side.
3. Click Install and more on the right side next to the personal greeting. 
4. Select Install Microsoft 365 apps. 

The install will begin, follow the prompts to install Microsoft 365

Cause

The issue seems to occur from which link was used to register/access Microsoft 365 for education.

• https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/students takes you to the correct Microsoft 365 portal.
• https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office using this link will redirect to the Admin Portal after registration/logging in.
