Unmarking an Email as Spam in Gmail

Question

How do I stop emails that aren't spam from being marked spam?

I accidentally marked a message as SPAM how do I fix it?

Answer

To preemptively stop a sender’s future messages from getting marked as spam, add that sender to your contacts.

  1. Open the message in Gmail
  2. Hover your mouse cursor over the sender’s name at the top of the email message
  3. Click Add to contacts when the card appears.

To move email out of the Spam folder.

  1. Click on the email that is now under the spam folder.
  2. Click the Not Spam option in the top view.
