Multimedia Station Video Playback Defaults

Issue

Classroom multimedia stations are opening video files in Windows Media Player, which do not support the proper codecs for certain file types, such as VOB or MPEG.

 

Environment

  • Classroom Technology
  • Windows 10
  • VLC Media Player

 

Resolution

  1. Right-click on the video file you are trying to play.
  2. Choose the Open With option in the menu.
  3. Click on Choose another app
  4. Select the VLC Media Player app in the list.
  5. Check the box for always open files of this type.
