How do I use Qwickly in Canvas?

Qwickly Course Tools is an integrated Canvas tool that helps instructors manage common course tasks more efficiently. It allows you to post announcements, send emails, and adjust course availability across multiple courses at once. Qwickly saves time by centralizing these actions in one place rather than requiring you to open each course individually.

 

Answer

  1. Open a course. 
  2. Click Modules.
  3. Click + Module in the upper right corner.
  4. Enter "Qwickly" for the Module Name. 
  5. Click Add Module. 
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the Modules page, click the + icon on the right, and select External Tool.
  7. Locate and click Qwickly Course Tools.
  8. Click Add Item.
  9. Click Qwickly Course Tools link within the module. 
  10. Click Load Qwickly Course Tools in a New window. 
  11. Click Authorize from the Qwickly API Key prompt. 
  12. You can now begin using the Qwickly tool for your courses.

Additional Information

  • Make sure to leave the Qwickly module you created unpublished so students don’t have access. 
  • You can add the Qwickly tool to your Course Navigation menu; however, this will also make the link visible to students. When students try to access it, they will receive an error message.
