Media Station displaying inverted colors

Question

Why is the monitor on the teacher instructor podium in the classroom displaying these funky tye-dye looking inverted colors?

  • Lenovo L197 monitors

Information

There are certain classrooms with older Lenovo 19" L197 monitors that have a different Firmware that trips the High Definition Content Protection. This can come from sources such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or the Spotify Web Player.

It will display similar to this image:

Answer

Simply turning the monitor off and then back on will resolve the issue. However, the issue may return if the specific webpage is visited again or refreshed.
