How do I perform a self-service domain migration on macOS?

Information Technology has created an object in the GRCC Self Service app that allows faculty and staff to opt in to the domain migration ahead of the automatic upgrade scheduled for the late morning of Friday, October 4th. This can only be done while on campus and will work if connected to wireless or a wired connection.

Answer

  1. Open the GRCC Self-Service application using one of the below methods:
    1. Through Spotlight
      1. Open Spotlight (Cmd+Spacebar)
      2. Search "GRCC Self-Service," and press Enter
    2. Through Finder
      1. Click Go located in the Finder menu bar
      2. Click Applications
      3. Double-click GRCC Self-Service
  2. Click on the object titled Domain Upgrade
  3. Review the description and click Install
  4. Wait while the domain migration processes
    1. This may take several minutes to complete
  5. Click OK on the restart notification window
  6. When complete, restart your computer
  7. Log in with your current credentials
    1. Your username and password will remain the same
  8. Verify that all network drives appear as expected
  9. Restore any backed up data
  10. Enjoy!
