Information

IT is not always notified when an employee is leaving GRCC. This is especially true when contingents, adjuncts, and student employees leave GRCC. 

When an employee leaves GRCC, be sure to let IT know immediately so that we can make sure their access is removed. Failing to do so allows the employee to maintain access which can be a security concern.

Answer

  • Have your employee share the contents of their J Drive and Google Drive before they leave as it becomes easier then asking HR for access after the employee has left.

  • Emails are disabled for staff upon leaving GRCC. Have employees set up an auto reply in advance to let users know they are leaving and who to contact. Additionally, they should share any important emails that were saved or archived. 

  • Calendar appointments and shared group calendars are not removed by default, it may be helpful to have the employee transfer ownership to another person within the department before they leave.

  • Have the employee transfer ownership of a Google Group with another person as well.
