Installing Talon

Information

This guide outlines the installation process for the Talon desktop software specifically for Campus Police computers.

Environment

  • Windows Operating System
  • Campus Police Network Permissions

Process

  1. Navigate to the following network directory: S:\Units\Campus Police\Talon Back Up Installer.
  2. Launch the shortcut link labeled New Talon 2019... to access the Talon download page.
  3. Select the Download option on the webpage.
  4. Launch the application once the download is complete.
  5. When the unzip prompt appears, select Unzip to extract the installation files.
  6. Using File Explorer, navigate to the local directory: C:\ctccore\TalonCSB.
  7. Locate and launch the installation executable ctcstart.exe.

  8. Stay on this screen and allow the installer to complete all necessary updates.
  9. Once the updates finish, the software is installed and ready for use.

New Device Setup: If you are installing Talon on a new computer for the first time, CTCORE Technologies must be contacted via phone or email to authorize the device's MAC address before you can log in.
