Answer

Generate a backup code

1. Open Gmail
2. Navigate to Manage Google Account
3. Select Security
4. Click 2 Step Verification
5. Enter your password
6. Click Get Backup Codes

Use a backup code

1. Sign in to your Google Account.
2. Click Try another way.
3. Click Enter one of your 8-digit backup codes.
4. Enter one of your unused backup codes.
