Creating Website Desktop Application Shortcut

Issue

I would like a desktop shortcut to a specific website.

Environment:

• Firefox
• Google Chrome

Resolution

In Firefox:

Drag icon from URL onto blank space on desktop.

In Google Chrome:

1. Navigate to desired website
2. Click the Settings menu (3 vertical dots in the upper right) also known as the Kabob
3. Point to Save and share
4. Click Create Shortcut
   
5. Check the box for Open as New Window
   
6. Right click on new window on Task Bar
7. Click on Pin to Taskbar
