Setting your GRCC Google Account as Default

Issue

When logging in to a GRCC Google account, it defaults to a personal or alternate account. How do I set a GRCC account as the default account?

Information

Google determines the default account based on which account was logged into first within a specific web browser session. To ensure a GRCC account is the default, you must log in to it before any other accounts. If you are already logged into multiple accounts, you must sign out of all of them to reset the default status.

Additionally, consider creating a Google Chrome Profile to easily separate work and personal accounts into different browser windows.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to accounts.google.com or any Google application (like Gmail).
  2. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Sign out of all accounts.
  3. Once signed out, choose the option to Sign In.
  4. Log in to your GRCC email account first. This establishes it as the default account for that browser.
  5. After your GRCC account is logged in, you may then add your personal or alternate accounts by clicking your profile icon and selecting Add another account.
