MyGRCC Account Disabled

Question

Why am I getting an account disabled message when I log into a campus computer?

Environment

  • Active Directory
  • Campus Computers

Answer

Possible reasons for your account to be disabled:

  • Account Inactivity: Your account will be disabled after one year of discontinuing courses at GRCC.
  • Security Thresholds: Bots attempting to log in to accounts repeatedly can cause an account to be disabled.
  • Expired Passphrase: Attempting to log in multiple times with an expired passphrase (password).
  • Cached Credentials: Saving an expired passphrase within a browser for GRCC Wireless; the device may attempt to connect repeatedly until it locks the account.
  • Required Updates: The MyGRCC portal will prompt you to update your passphrase when it expires to prevent lockout.
