Question
How do I get started with Zoom Phone?
Environment
Information
We recommend you set up a voicemail greeting and business hours in Zoom phone.
A voicemail greeting creates a professional environment and welcomes callers to leave messages.
Business hours sends calls straight to voicemail if you receive calls out of hours. If you use the mobile app, it also prevents calls from being sent there.
Answer
First Steps
-
Create a voicemail message.
- Set your business hours (optional, recommended if you get calls during non-business hours)
Know how to dial
Dial phone numbers just as you would from a cell phone. Since the 616 area code is split between local and long distance numbers, we recommend dialing the full 10 digits.
For toll-free calls, do not include the leading 1. Simply use the pattern 8XX-XXX-XXXX.
International calling is not included in most calling plans.
If you have a desk phone, it includes speed dials for the GRCC Police and the IT Support Desk.
If you use the Zoom Workplace software, you can reach the GRCC Police by typing the word Police in the search bar. For urgent situations, we highly recommend calling 911.
