Accessing Network Drives on Mac OS
Issue
The S or J drives do not show up on a GRCC MacOS device.
Environment
MacOS
Shared Network Drive (J or S Drives)
Resolution
Ensure that you are on the desktop to activate Finder as the active Application.
Click on the background image
Press
Command + K
To Add the J: Drive:
Type folder path smb://storage.grcc.edu/HomeDir/UserName
also possible the folder is under smb://storage.grcc.edu/
HomeDir4
/UserName
To add the S: Drive:
Type folder path smb://storage.grcc.edu/shared
Check the box to save the configuration
The drive should now show on the desktop
For easier future access, add each of these folders to the 'Sidebar'.
With the network folder open,
Select
File
from the toolbar along the top
Select
Add to Sidebar
Alternate shortcut CTRL+CMD+T
Once they are added to the Sidebar, you can drag them up to the "Favorites" section.
