Reporting to the Director of IT Project Management, Procurement & Licensing, the IT Project Manager provides Project and Asset Management responsibilities for the Project Management Office, a department within the Division of Information Technology. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing IT projects according to strict timelines and budgets. This includes coordination of resources, team members, and consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan while effectively communicating to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This position is also responsible for managing hardware assets across the entire campus, including vendor communication and financial obligations related to recurring hardware-based subscriptions, such as hotspots. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a centralized database of all IT assets, contracts, and certificates and serves as an intermediary for the campus for any hardware, server, storage, or purchasing needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

Develop and deliver project proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations

Direct and manage project development from beginning to end

Manage and monitor project budget

Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders

Plan, schedule and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools

Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

Provide regular status reports to stakeholders, utilize team members to determine reporting frequency, content, results analysis, and troubleshoot problem areas

Work with vendors to ensure contractual expectations are satisfactorily completed

Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team

Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential crises, minimize scope change and devise contingency plans

Effectively collaborate with operational managers to ensure milestones and project expectations are met

Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

Assist with budgetary, usage, and financial inventory data for all campus hardware

Assist in developing, defining, and executing hardware management processes

Monitor hardware usage analytics and effectively use asset management disposal methods to harvest, dispose of, discontinue or destroy unused or deprecated assets

Supports employees purchasing laptops, printers, hotspots or other hardware assets for classroom or home-based instruction

Purchases any IT hardware needs and assigns deployment responsibilities to the proper group. Ensures completion of work orders in the IT ticket management system

Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

Educational Credentials

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

IAITAM certification, CITAM, CSAM or CHAMP preferred

Work Experience

3-5 years’ experience in information technology field or project management work
