GRCC is seeking a highly motivated individual in the role of Enterprise Server Administrator. The successful candidate will maintain and support the execution environments for GRCC’s enterprise applications including but not limited to PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions, Financials and Supply Chain Management, Human Capital Management, and Interaction Hub), Perceptive Content (imaging/document management). As a subject matter expert, the individual will have responsibility for solving complex problems, analysis of which will require detailed consideration of multiple factors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Configure and maintain PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content, and other enterprise system development, test and production servers

  • Support development, test and production servers including after-hours support and monitoring server usage and up-time

  • Provide guidance in complex problem solving situations and participate in direct interaction with internal staff and vendor personnel as required. Identify process improvement opportunities

  • Build and maintain material describing activity levels and possible next steps required for each server. Act as liaison for internal and external communications directly with departments as required

  • Provide regular status reports and gather requirements from departments and provide input into the infrastructure products that are bought or built

  • Participate in department-wide efforts to design, implement and maintain consistent backup and disaster recovery plans

  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure on network topologies, server configurations, hardware/software deployments, firewall configurations and other administrative tasks related to the staging and maintenance of development, testing and production servers

  • Document technical requirements, develop and oversee project plans and implement change control procedures. Facilitate design sessions and architectural reviews 

  • Participate in technical advisory roles, as required. Provide mentorship to colleagues in specific areas of expertise and foster a learning and growth environment

  • Monitor, download and apply application upgrades, updates and fixes

  • Manage the change control process for PeopleSoft and other enterprise systems, including the migration of objects and program files from lower to production environments

  • Monitor PeopleSoft application and server status, including application, web, and process scheduler domains

  • Create and document repeatable processes for the building of servers in PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content, and other enterprise applications

  • Troubleshoot problems and provides end-user support for PeopleSoft and Perceptive Content in conjunction with application analysts

  • Provide before hours, after hours, and weekend support for migrations, updates, fixes and issues as needed

  • Monitor for application or performance issues and address reports of same that are forwarded from IT Customer Support, application analysts, or other sources

  • Regular attendance during normal schedule hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

  • Keep abreast of changing technologies and investigate new software solutions in order to make recommendations for improvement

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required

Work Experience 

  • Five years’ experience or more working with a complex enterprise system

  • Experience with PeopleTools version 8.54+ or similar software environment is preferred

  • Relational database architecture experience (Oracle 11g or higher preferred) and proficiency in SQL based query, programming, and reporting tools

  • Experience with tools like TOAD, SQR, and BI Publisher is required

  • Higher Educational business process experience is preferred
