The Media Technologies Engineer is responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of Media Technologies video production systems, classroom multimedia systems and large venue sound and video systems. Additionally, this position provides technical support for media event setup and operation of systems for events. The engineering team may also be called on to assist with video productions by operating camera, editing and supporting event audio, shoots and projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide maintenance of video production studio equipment and systems
-
Respond to service calls in video production studio
-
Design, Install or upgrade sound/audio/video equipment and systems in large venues
-
Make necessary repairs of failed equipment in large venues
-
Facilitate “media events” requests as assigned
-
Provide engineering services for remote and studio video and audio productions
-
Respond to classroom multimedia system service/support tickets and emergency requests
-
Manage classroom multimedia system installation, maintenance and repair
-
Perform electronics repairs, electronics bench work, cable/connector construction, etc.

Assist with large scale video productions and events
-
Repair equipment on-site when possible and make arrangements to send out failed equipment for repair if necessary

Provide “temporary” solution that allows systems to function while failed equipment is being serviced

Maintain a documented stock of commonly used parts and supplies
-
Maintain an inventory of all video production equipment and systems
-
Document all repairs including the equipment’s model, serial number, location along with details of work performed and the associated repair cost

Make recommendations for equipment replacement
-
Maintain a documented preventative maintenance schedule for all related video production equipment and systems
-
Keep all production equipment firmware and software at the most current version
-
Attend training courses relating to repair and maintenance of related equipment and systems

Keep system manuals, drawings, software and supplies organized in a neat, documented manor

Provide engineering support and maintenance of our production network, computer workstations and servers

Provide audio and video system support for multipoint livestream events
-
Mix sound for larger high-profile events
-
Keep abreast of changing technologies and investigate new solutions in order to make recommendations for improvement

Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Educational Credentials
-
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent in Electronics, Broadcast Engineering or related field
-
National Career Readiness Certificate preferred (NCRC) but not required
Work Experience

The ability to read and troubleshoot electronic circuits using schematic diagrams

Knowledge of industry proven video production engineering practices and methods

Ability to work independently

Ability to design, troubleshoot and service RF CATV/CCTV and fiber optic signal distribution systems

Familiarity with programming Extron, Crestron and other media control systems
-
Working knowledge of Extron Global Configurator (network managed multimedia control systems used in classrooms).

Strong computer system knowledge with a solid understanding of IP network routers, switches, IP configuration of devices and their associated network wiring and infrastructure
-
Working knowledge of classroom multimedia and sound equipment including large venue systems
-
Ability to program and troubleshoot digital audio processing systems

Working knowledge of digital audio transmission systems such as Dante, AVB, AES, etc.

Strong sound mixing (for live and pre-recorded events) experience
