The purpose of the HRIS Specialist is to input, maintain, and analyze data as it relates to functions of human resources, recruiting, and professional development.

Input and maintain HRIS data (ex: personnel changes and new hire information for all employee groups). Including address and name changes and sends HR Notifications

Input and maintain Administer Training data (including setup of all learning opportunities)

Create and summarize departmental data for human resources, recruiting, and professional development for the Dashboard system and/or other Quarterly reporting

Ensure Peoplesoft Recruitment module is functioning properly and coordinate with IT staff for trouble shooting, and oversee data integrity
-
Design, Test and Implement HRIS PeopleSoft Modules (including HR, Recruiting, and Administer Training) with the staff of HR and payroll/benefits (coordinated with HRIS & Payroll Analyst)

Create and input the new Fiscal Year data to PeopleSoft, coordinating all processes with others in Human Resources

Manage HRIS Department Tree and Commitment Accounting

Manage Federal and State record retention requirements

Prepare data reports pertaining to each new SAAR
-
Gather and prepare data reports pertaining to survey requests

Maintain all components of Human Resources web page

Recommend system design changes and upgrades based on efficiency of current system and user needs. Research new technologies related to Human Resources or as requested for new Human Resources programs affecting the Human Resources system and make recommendations regarding changes or innovations which impact Human Resources’ strategic direction

Create and maintain Organizational Charts

Input and maintain professional development data from eLearning software and our campus wide information system

Responsible for administration of user accounts and assignments, and addressing or resolving technical issues in eLearning software

Process and monitor participant evaluations of learning opportunities. Compile quarterly evaluation data for dashboard report

Run the external professional development import process from ImageNow to Peoplesoft and ensure all data transfers accurately
-
Make recommendations to the Associate Director of Human Resources with the development of the Staff Development calendar of learning opportunities in an effort to meet individual, departmental and institutional needs

Provide technical support for PeopleSoft Administer Training modules to staff in Student Employment Services and Center for Teaching Excellence

Provide training (including developing training materials) to Student Employment Services and Center for Teaching Excellence staff to support use of PeopleSoft Administer Training
-
Serve as backup for others areas in Human Resources (i.e. Payroll, Benefits, Student Employment Services, and HR)

Assist with coordinating professional development activities/events including the Employee Recognition Reception, APSS Learning Day, and other large events

Assist with the onboarding/orientation and mentorship program for new employees as needed

Assist with Rewards and Recognition program as needed

Serve as a member on cross college teams and/or committees per the Associate Director of Human Resources approval

Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position
