Perform wireless modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures. Design network and computer security measures and access controls. Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop conceptual, logical, physical wireless network designs
-
Survey, monitor and analyze wireless network performance
-
Perform secondary Network Engineering tasks
-
Identify inefficient use of computer resources, or perform capacity planning
-
Develop disaster recovery plans
-
Develop and implement solutions for infrastructure problems
-
Monitor use of networks and regulate access to safeguard information
-
Create encryption certificates for data transmissions and firewalls to conceal confidential information
-
Discuss and plan systems with solution architects, system engineers, or cybersecurity experts to meet College requirements

Visit vendors, attend conferences or training sessions, or study technical journals to keep up with changes in technology

Maintain or coordinate the maintenance of network and data center peripherals i.e. PDU, RPS, UPS, AC

Perform ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or software

Assist and support colleagues with their job functions as directed

Work with Technology Staff, project managers and customers to evaluate, find and recommend technology solutions for GRCC

Assist with VoIP environment

24/7 on-call support of any infrastructure systems

Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

Work Experience

Three or more years experience in network administration

Firewall Design, Deploy, and Administrate- Write policy, Audit Policy and evaluate end to end connectivity. Securing our clients and servers traffic to provide a zero-trust environment. ( Palo Alto experience preferred )

Routing and Switching- HSRP, EIGRP, Static, VDC, VPC, MLAG, BGP and Spanning-Tree

Wireless Design, Deploy, and Administrate ( Cisco/ Aruba Controllers experience preferred )
