The Associate Director of the College Success Center will lead a combined team of full-time and part-time staff in the development and implementation of initiatives that support the College’s effort to increase student persistence, certificate/degree completion and successful transfer. The Associate Director provides leadership and supervision in the daily operations of the College Success Center through the coordination, design and implementation of customized interventions. The Associate Director is expected to be knowledgeable about program development, collaborative student support services delivery, high school and community partnerships, and working with low-income, developmental, first-generation students.

Oversee the daily operations of the College Success Center

Lead the development, design, implementation and evaluation of customized interventions to increase student persistence, graduation and transfer

Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate Coaches, Program Coordinator Alliance for Professional Support Staff Members, and student workers
-
Manage all Tittle III and other grant activities and evaluate programs to assure compliance with grant requirements, operational implementation of activities, achievement of objectives, and completion of evaluation and reporting

Prepare all Title III reports as requested by the U.S. Department of Education and the College and other funders as necessary

Manage department budget operations
-
Manage purchasing and contracts in compliance with GRCC policies and code of ethics

Prepare report structures, formats, and timelines for program and internal reporting needs

Review forms/records for accuracy and compliance to funders and College regulations
-
Conduct ongoing review of policies and internal processes as well as plan, develop and recommend new policies and amendments to ensure quality of student services and compliance with grant objectives

Collect, analyze, and report student performance, retention, milestone achievement, and completion data related to the department

Communicate goals, objectives, and student milestones to college and community stakeholders

Build partnerships with area high schools including the Lakeshore area and other community-based organizations to deliver services to students
-
Coordinate with the Director of Woodrick Center for Equity and Inclusion, Director of Student Support Services, Director of Developmental Education and Academic Foundation subject coordinators to implement program activities

Coordinate with Academic Foundations advisors, enrollment center staff, financial aid specialists and professional tutors in the implementation of FastTrack, Challenge Scholars and other initiatives

Collaborate with faculty members, department heads, and associate deans in monitoring student academic progress through the Early Alert System and other communication venues

Coordinate the development of new or enhancement of existing student resources and tools that support student success and retention

Monitor and track students by using PeopleSoft and data warehouse system to document academic and personal progress of program participants

Coordinate the development and dissemination of the marketing materials regarding student opportunities and services to students, staff, faculty, and community partners

Maintain the College Success Center website with pertinent information about program opportunities, updates and highlights

Compose, edit and assemble various documents, agenda materials, calendar of activities, newsletters, and reports for distribution to relevant offices

Weekly: to track day-to-day operations

Quarterly: to meet grant reporting requirements and track progress on goals/objectives

Yearly: to meet grant requirements and ensure continuous assessment and improvement as well as preparation for the following year activities

Addresses and mediates student, faculty and staff concerns to ensure proper resolution

Serve on the Student Success and Retention Leadership Team and multiple college-wide committees, teams and community projects as appropriate and requested

Ensure that correspondence is acted upon, referring appropriate matters to other project staff and following through to ensure action is taken

Ensure that general and confidential filing is maintained in a system allowing for ready retrieval of project records

This role is a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs will be trained and responsible for reporting Clery Reportable Crimes to Campus Police as required by the Clery Act.

Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position
