The Utility Supervisor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods as well as the training and supervision of the student employees in the student utility role also performing these duties. This position also ensures the kitchen, dishwashing and bussing areas are maintained as clean, safe and sanitary facilities in support of the Heritage, and other Secchia Institute academic lab classes and banquet functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Machine and manual washing of all dishware, glassware, utensils, trays, pots and pans for the Secchia Institute of Culinary Education

Return all cleaned equipment to its proper and designated storage space

Clean and maintain dish machine and pot sinks to Kent County Health Department standards for all Secchia Institute areas, as designated by the Director of Operation or designee

Maintain a clean and safe work area

Training and supervise student employees on equipment and procedures in utility area

Must demonstrate ability to have work completely prepared and ready at time designed by Director of Operations or designee

Assist in the general kitchen and dining room sanitation and maintenance

Must be able to work with all employees and customers in a congenial and safe manner, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively and professionally

Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position
