This position provides leadership and professional coordination in the execution of program/project activities for both new and established programs for Workforce Training, including short term training and continuing education/professional development.  In addition to the essential duties this team member is accountable to demonstrate effective collaboration, communication skills, personal initiative to overcome obstacles and the ability to work effectively to meet deadlines.  This position serves as a liaison with state and community partners, area employers and internal college departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the management of new and/or established program(s) or project(s), which generate revenue for the business unit. This includes, but is not limited to, contracted instruction, curriculum, and financial

  • Properly implement all approved procedures, work instructions, forms and their revisions

  • Monitoring of budget expenditures for proposed programs and provides interim status reports on all assigned work

  • Research and benchmark program, identify possible sources for materials/supplies

  • Strategically utilize instructional staff to identify customer training needs and services while projecting future capacity considerations

  • Collaborates with internal and external constituents (i.e.: College departments, local businesses, and/or community organizations to consolidate resources and/or enhance program design/alignment

  • Coordinates the collection, compilation and analysis of program data; develops, writes program reports

  • Coordinates and assists in producing, developing program/course marketing or promotional materials.   May assist in developing teaching materials, handouts

  • Promotes and maintains client company relationships; customer retention

  • Provides input to unit leadership team, creating and implementing short and long term goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures

  • Coordinate scheduling of classrooms, technology, equipment, materials, supplies and instructor communication for CEPD classes

  • Troubleshoots problems and provides end-user support for non-credit enterprise system

  • Develops and maintain systems and processes to maintain appropriate student records

  • Provide technical expertise and support to all MTEC, Workforce Training Units and college departments

  • Lead role in suggesting possible system changes towards Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)

  • Problem solve issues relating to system integrations

  • Develop and maintain the Workforce Training’s non-credit enterprise system webpages

  • Manage hiring of contracted staff

  • Provide monthly report to the Executive Director of Workforce Training

  • Assist MTEC leadership in identifying strategic opportunities to develop CEPD offerings

  • Project management and administrative skills

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and to effectively work as a member of a team

  • Knowledge of cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures

  •  Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

  • Performs other related duties as assigned


JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Credentials

  • Associates degree in any field

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Certified Program Planner certification preferred

Work Experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in education, business, project management, or a technology field

  • Experience with various IT systems, software and products (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Enterprise management systems, learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas), CRM systems

  • Some schedule flexibility is needed to attend events or activities.  Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours 80% of the time. There is the opportunity for some schedule flexibility to meet work needs
