The Executive Director of Operational Planning serves as primary space manager at the College, providing oversight and direction for space allocation and utilization in alignment with institutional mission, vision, and values. This role is required to work through other departments and with individuals from all areas of the college to accomplish established goals and objectives. The position serves as facilitator for initiatives and projects that impact all areas of the institution, as well as leads a cross college team to develop, maintain, and update campus emergency preparedness plans and communication systems. Coordination, communication, and collaboration with executives, leaders, and employees from all areas of the college and community is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
College Master Planning and Space Utilization
- Lead cross college team to develop, maintain, and update the campus master plan that aligns with the college’s mission, vision, values, and goals
- Develop and facilitate the college-wide space/resource request, prioritization, approval, and allocation process in support of college goals and objectives
- Using data, objectively advocate and evaluate the requests and allocation decisions for campus space use that align with the strategic plan and learning environment goals
- Engage stakeholders in the planning and decision-making regarding space and changing physical environments
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to identify and allocate resources in line with operational goals
- Provide leadership, coordination and oversight for transition planning and large campus projects requiring space renovation and/or relocation
- Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to address project goals and timelines; deliver results and assure customer satisfaction
- Develop, communicate, and execute strategic operational plans, including short-term and long-term objectives
- Monitor utilization of college classrooms, offices, and student space to address changing needs, demands, and priorities
- Assess and assign space according to prioritized utilization; negotiate usage of space, re-allocation of space and coordination of related resources as appropriate
- Represent Departmental Administration regarding facility and space planning projects; advise senior leadership regarding construction and renovation. Liaison with employees, departments, contractors, and service providers (Facilities, IT, Food Service, etc.) to effectively and efficiently address project needs, identify issues, and resolve conflict
- Coordinate and facilitate multidisciplinary meetings to prepare user groups for renovations, construction and/or occupancy of space
College Emergency Planning and Preparedness
- Lead cross college team to develop, maintain, and update campus emergency preparedness plans and communication systems
- Coordinate with other departments and teams on college safety issues and emergency plans/procedures
- Plan and coordinate crisis response and management procedures with the Crisis Management Team
- Plan, develop, and implement routine drills for campus safety and crisis response
- Liaison with other college departments and teams regarding campus safety and security initiatives and crisis preparedness (Academics, Campus Police, Facilities, Risk Management, IT, etc.)
- Maintain and update all resource materials associated with emergency preparedness plans
- Facilitate campus-wide initiatives to plan, prepare, and mitigate crises
- Participates in the cross-college Risk Management Team
- Coordinate with departments to develop building specific plans based on building specific concerns
- Develop materials and communications for the campus community
Additional
- This role is a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs will be trained and responsible for reporting Clery Reportable Crimes to Campus Police as required by the Clery Act.
- Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Educational Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Educational Leadership, Project Management, or similar field required
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years with higher education with progressive leadership experience required
- Experience in emergency planning and preparedness and/or crisis management preferred
- Experience in project management is preferred
