The Associate Dean for Access and First Year Success is a senior leader in the Division of Student Success and provides leadership for the college’s strategic enrollment services, programming, and initiatives. This includes oversight of admissions, international student services, new student advising, orientation, enrollment services, college success, the college call center, as well as TRIO Educational Opportunities Center personnel and services. The Associate Dean takes a principal role in developing and implementing the collegewide Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan, leading team members in developing and implementing access and enrollment strategies to increase higher education access and improve new student success. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining data and analytics to track and monitor new student outcomes, leading continuous quality improvement initiatives, and establishing success measures to ensure effective department operations and student satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide leadership and strategic vision for the college’s strategic enrollment services, programming, and initiatives

Oversee the day-to-day operations of Admissions, International Student Services, New Student Advising, Orientation, Enrollment, College Success, and the Call Center, as well as TRIO Educational Opportunities Center personnel and services

Direct, plan, establish, and implement sound operational and departmental goals and action plans to support the college mission, as well as key objectives in the areas of access and new student success

Hire, supervise, and evaluate faculty and staff members across admissions, enrollment services, call center, college success program, new student advising, orientation, and EOC grant

Form and facilitate tenure and promotion committees, and make tenure and promotion recommendations to the Provost in collaboration with the Dean of Student Success

Develop and implement the collegewide Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, working collaboratively with the Dean of Student Success, fellow Associate Deans, and other key campus stakeholders

Lead and coordinate continuous quality improvement initiatives, as well as the establishment of success measures and outcomes to ensure effective department operations, optimum enrollment and revenue generation, exemplary service delivery, and student satisfaction with programs and services

Identify new community and college partnership opportunities, respond to requests, and participate in implementation

Foster positive relationships with community school districts, businesses, organizations, and agencies to support higher education access

Clery Act compliance: Be trained and responsible for reporting Clery Reportable Crimes to Campus Police as required by the Clery Act

Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

Five years of experience in higher education leadership, administration, and supervision with demonstrated student services experience

Demonstrated experience using data and stakeholder participation and input to develop, implement, and evaluate partnerships and programs that increase student access to and achievement in higher education

Demonstrated experience embedding equity best practices into departmental operations and serving as an advocate for underserved student populations

Knowledge and use of technology to deliver effective student service transactions and support systems, and to analyze data and make data informed decisions

Demonstrated experience in budgeting, planning, program and service development, and management
