00001897 - Senior Enterprise Systems Administrator

This position is responsible for designing / architecting data center resources including but not limited to enterprise virtual / physical compute and storage solutions. Working with enterprise network engineers to deploy best practices for connectivity. While maintaining a secure environment for data and operating system resources. They will also be responsible for disaster recovery backup and restoration processes for the data center environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Enterprise Storage administration, which includes installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting for various storage solutions. ( PURE, VNX, Isilon)
  • Design / architect Virtual enterprise compute environment
  • Deploy compute resources in the on prem cloud and physical hardware as needed. (server creation)
  • Maintain enterprise Dynamic Name Service (DNS) environment for both on premise and external
  • Work with Network Engineer to deploy required network configuration within the Data Center
  • Design and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) for enterprise compute resources.
  • Install, Configure and maintain enterprise monitoring solutions for compute, network, storage and VoIP. (PRTG)
  • Work with Information Security Office to determine and deploy required or recommended patches for enterprise compute and storage solutions
  • Work with Technology Staff, project managers and customers to evaluate, find and recommend technology solutions for GRCC.
  • Work with Information Security Office to assist in investigating or implementing
  • 24/7 on-call support of any infrastructure systems.
  • Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Server operating systems, networking technologies, and Enterprise storage systems.
  • Experience with Virtualization design and deployment on an enterprise level ( VMware preferred )
  • Experience with Enterprise Storage design and deployment on an enterprise level (PURE, EMC preferred)
  • Experience with Server installation and deployment, both virtual and physical
