This position coordinates activities related to building enrollment at the College, with emphasis on the Lakeshore area. Participation in outreach and recruitment endeavors is integral in this role, as is cultivating positive relationships with high school counselors, community partners, and prospective students. This role acts as the College representative and primary focus is on Lakeshore enrollment while collaborating with the Admissions Office and other recruiters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recruitment and Outreach
- Organize and support recruitment activities on and off campus, including high school visits, college fairs, and community events.
- Assist in planning and organizing Lakeshore Campus events, such as open houses and community engagement activities.
- Represent the College at off-site recruitment and outreach events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community leaders, and other potential partners.
- Assist with distributing and translating recruitment materials.
- Actively participate in creating print materials (e.g., brochures, viewbooks)
Initiative Development and Implementation:
- Assist the Associate Director of Admissions and Enrollment and the Assistant Director of Adult Recruitment in planning, developing, and implementing recruitment initiatives and outreach programs, including strategies for adult learners.
Admissions Support:
- Serve as an Admissions and Enrollment Specialist by hosting appointments in person, online, and by phone.
- Follow up on electronic inquiries, counsel prospective applicants, and provide support for New Student Orientation and Financial Aid events.
- Facilitate Accuplacer placement testing for the Lakeshore area.
- Assist in developing and maintaining the Admissions office’s recruitment and marketing plan.
- Host small and large group campus tours and provide informational presentations.
Marketing and Communication Management:
- CRM software to manage communications, track data, and develop outreach strategies to improve recruitment and enrollment.
- Present formal presentations at recruitment, outreach, and other events in small or large groups.
General Duties:
- Attend and assist with Grand Rapids Main Campus meetings as needed.
- Maintain regular attendance

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Credentials
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in higher education or related field preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Required Experience
- Two or more years' experience working in admissions, student services, or a related field required.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Lakeshore community educational service needs and have past community engagement experience within the Lakeshore Campus service area preferred.
- Knowledge of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and regulations related to the administration of federal and state financial aid programs preferred.
- Experience using Blackboard, CRM systems, texting software, and student information systems, such as PeopleSoft preferred.

Physical Demands
- Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle for extensive recruitment travel.
- Must be able to carry at least 30 pounds of recruitment material.
- Must have reliable transportation to drive to various locations in the West Michigan area.
- Mix of seated office work and active off campus engagements (driving, standing at information tables for 2-3 hours, etc).

Working Conditions

- Grand Rapids Community College is required to comply with the OSHA emergency temporary standard (ETS). Employees will either have to be vaccinated or comply with weekly testing requirements.
- Mostly office environments or attendance of events at local schools. Some activities may be held outdoors. Frequent travel is required.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must be punctual with a good attendance record and have the ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
