How to Require LockDown Browser for Exams in Canvas

How can I require LockDown Browser for my exams in Canvas? 

 

Environment

  • Canvas
  • Respondus LockDown Browser

 

Answer

First, add LockDown Browser to your course navigation menu:

  1. Open your course. 
  2. Go to Settings > Navigation.
  3. Scroll down, find LockDown Browser, click the three dots to the right, and select Enable.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Save.

Next, you can enable LockDown Browser for each exam. 

  1. Click LockDown Browser from your course navigation menu. 
    • You may need authorize LockDown Browser if accessing in Canvas for the first time. 
  2. Locate the desired test and click 
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam. 
  5. Click Save + Close.
