Webcam not seen on Respondus Lockdown Browser

Issue

The web cam is not seen on Respondus Lockdown Browser.

 

Environment

  • Windows 10
  • Lenovo T460s and Lenovo T560s
  • Respondus Lockdown Browser

 

Information

User is unable to use the webcam on a loaner laptop in Lockdown Browser. See attached image.

 

Resolution

  1. Open up Device Manager
  2. Locate the Camera. Its either under the Camera category or Imaging Devices category.
  3. Expand either section its located.
  4. Right click the device
  5. Choose Uninstall.
  6. Right click the top level
  7. Choose "Scan for Hardware Changes".
  8. Wait for the Camera to pop back in
  9. Test Respondus Lockdown Browser to  verify functionality.
