How do I turn on Gmail keyboard shortcuts?

To utilize the many GMail keyboard shortcuts, you must toggle the setting in your GMail settings. 

Answer

1. From your GMail account click on the Gear (settings) menu in the top right corner
2. Select See all settings
3. Under the General Tab, look for Keyboard Shortcuts about three-quarters down the page. 
4. Toggle the menu option "Keyboard shortcuts on"
5. Select Save Changes at the bottom of the page
