What is the IT Knowledge Base and how do I search for what I need?

Information
The IT Knowledge Base (or KB) offers quick access to articles designed to provide "how-to" steps and helpful answers to common questions about technology here at GRCC. If you are unable to find what you are looking for while searching the KB or still need help, submit a ticket and/or submit a Knowledge Article addition. For instructions on how to access and search for your answers see below.
Answer
Access the Knowledge Base
- Navigate to the IT Self-Service Portal
- Click Sign in in the top right corner to be directed to the MyGRCC Login page
- If you see your name in the upper right you are already signed in
- Select the Knowledge Base tab or search directly from this page
Search Bar and Filter
- Navigate to the IT Self-Service Portal
- Locate the search bar in the top right corner
- Click on the globe icon
- Select Knowledge Base from the options
- This will filter the Service Catalog out of your search results
- Enter your keywords in the search bar
- Click or hit Enter
- Scroll through the results to find the appropriate article or try again with another keyword search
Search by Category
- Navigate to the IT Self-Service Portal
- Select the Knowledge Base tab
- Click on a Category to view articles on that topic
- Click on Subcategories to get more specific articles
- You may also use the Search This Category search bar to find article within the current category
Tip: Check out the Popular Articles list for quick access to commonly viewed articles.
