Disable Google Account Verification (Login Challenge)

Issue

When signing in to Google, it asks for verification/authentication, and the number or email is not active or accessible.

Information

Resolution

Account verification can be disabled temporarily to allow access into a Google account if the verification information is missing or incorrect.

Staff Accounts

  1. Login to the Team Drive admin account on Google.com.
  2. Navigate to the Admin app. When prompted, retrieve the password from Passwordstate.
  3. Search for the user.
  4. Expand the Security section in the user's account.
  5. Click Login Challenge.
  6. Click Turn Off for 10 Mins.
  7. Instruct the user to login to myaccount.google.com and update their personal info section.

Student Accounts

  1. Login to your @email.grcc.edu account on Google.com.
  2. Navigate to the Admin app.
  3. Search for the user.
  4. Expand the Security section in the user's account.
  5. Click Login Challenge.
  6. Click Turn Off for 10 Mins​​​​​​​.
  7. Instruct the user to login to myaccount.google.com and update their personal info section.
