Issue
A Ferris Instructor has forgotten their passphrase (password) to sign-in to a campus computer.
Environment
Information
Part-time Ferris State Instructors should receive their login information from the Ferris contact at the beginning of each semester. These accounts are deleted at the end of every semester. If the instructor still requires a login, The Ferris GR contact will request new access for them before the start of the next semester. Follow the resolution below.
Note: If the instructor is full-time or regularly works on GRCC's campus, an external account may have been created, as directed by Human Resources. This can be verified by searching and finding them in PeopleSoft. These external employees use GRCC network credentials to sign in and not the below resolution.
Resolution
Note: Ferris Instructors calling after 5pm will likely need their passwords reset through the Infrastructure team. Do not message the Infrastructure Google Chat space after this time. Call the IT Director of Infrastructure (Donovan Wallace) directly only if the request is urgent. If this request is non-urgent, create a ticket for the Infrastructure team and add current Ferris GR contact to the ticket.
- Ask that the instructor contact Ferris representative to receive their login information.
- If the instructor has changed their password this semester and can no longer log in, a ticket will need to be created for the Infrastructure team. Add Ferris GR representative to this ticket so they are notified.
The Ferris GR representative is David Durkee: DavidDDurkee@ferris.edu (opens in a new window)
