How do you add items within the Omnissa (VMware) environment?

- Any non-Omnissa (VMware) device
- Google Drive
- Email
Information
Because of the security configuration of Omnissa (VMware), you cannot add items by dragging and dropping or connecting an external drive to your local computer, regardless of whether you use the Client or the web version. To add items to Omnissa (VMware), use one of the following options:
- File sharing services (Google Drive, OneDrive, WeTransfer, etc.)
- Email the files to yourself (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
Answer
File Share Application (Google Drive)
- Go to Google Drive
- Log in to your account.
- Click New in the top-left corner of Google Drive.
- Depending on your needs, select one of the following:
- For an individual item: Select File upload and choose your file.
- For a folder (multiple items): Select Folder upload and choose your folder.
- Wait until the upload is complete.
- Open your Omnissa (VMware) session.
- Open Google Drive within the Omnissa (VMware) environment.
- Locate and select the desired file(s).
- Click Download for the selected file(s).
- Save the files to the J: Drive to ensure they are not lost.
Email Option
- Open Gmail
- Click Compose.
- At the bottom of the email draft, click the Attach files icon (paperclip).
- Note: Depending on file size, items may be sent as a Google Drive link and automatically uploaded to your Drive.
- Select the desired files.
- In the To field, enter your own email address.
- Click Send.
- Open your Omnissa (VMware) session.
- Open Gmail within the Omnissa (VMware) environment.
- Download the attached files from your email.
