Issue
When printing a PDF, it does not print, or only prints a portion of the document.
Environment
- Firefox
- Chrome
- Internet Explorer
- Acrobat Acrobat (Reader or Pro/DC)
Information
A system viewer (Acrobat) is often the best place to print from, as browsers do not always communicate with printers efficiently.
Resolution
- Set the default PDF viewer in Windows to open with Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader and print from there
- Adobe Acrobat Pro (DC) is preferred as it has greater compatibility and features.
- If the issue is still occurring, select the Print as Image option in Acrobat
- Click the File menu
- Click Print
- Click Advanced
- Select Print As Image near the top right
Note: some browser, such as Firefox and Chrome have options for how to handle PDF's. You may need to change the individual browser settings to instruct them to download and open with the system viewer.
