Exporting and Importing Bookmarks in Firefox

Issue

I would like to take my favorites and bookmarks with me when I move to a different computer.

Exporting Bookmarks

1. Open Firefox
2. Click the menu icon 
3. Click Bookmarks
4. Click Manage Bookmarks
5. Click on Import and Backup
6. Click Backup
7. Navigate to the desired destination folder
   • For GRCC purposes, we recommend saving this file your your J: drive
8. Click Save 
   • Depending on how many bookmarks you have in Firefox it may take a minute for the window to disappear.  The file will appear in the location you selected named Bookmarks and the date. 

Importing Bookmarks from Firefox

1. Open Firefox
2. Click the menu icon 
3. Click Bookmarks
4. Click Manage Bookmarks
5. Click on Import and Backup
6. Click Restore
7. Click Choose File
8. Select that file you saved previously.
9. Click Open

Importing Bookmarks from Other Browser

1. Open Firefox
2. Click the menu icon 
3. Click Bookmarks
4. Click Manage Bookmarks
5. Click on Import and Backup
6. Click Import Bookmarks from HTML
7. Select your HTML bookmark file

Importing Bookmarks, History, and Autofill Data from Other Browser

1. Open Firefox
2. Click the menu icon 
3. Click Bookmarks
4. Click Manage Bookmarks
5. Click on Import and Backup
6. Click Import Data from Another Browser
7. Select the browser and/or profile you want to import from
8. Click to choose specific data to import
9. Click Import
