Changing Active Hours on Windows Machine

How do I change the active hours for my Windows Device?

Information

Active hours lets Windows know when you're typically at your PC. Windows will use that info to schedule updates and restarts when you’re not using the PC.

 

Answer

To let windows decide your active hours based on usage

  1. Select Start
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Update & Security 
  4. Click Windows Update
  5. Select Change active hours
  6. Toggle on Automatically adjust active hours for this device based on activity.

To select your own active hours

  1. Select Start
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Update & Security 
  4. Click Windows Update
  5. Select Change active hours
  6. Toggle off Automatically adjust active hours for this device based on activity, if necessary
  7. Select Change next to current active hours
  8. Choose the start time and end time for active hours
