Held for Authentication Error when Printing

Issue

When using Papercut Mobility, a user may receive a "Held for Authentication" message on the Papercut pop-up window.

Information

This error typically occurs when a user's password has expired or the incorrect password was entered. Note that the system may not provide a specific "invalid password" message.

Resolution

  • Refresh Authentication: Select the Refresh button located within the Papercut popup window to re-enter your password.
  • Mac Users (Keychain): If you are using a Mac, this error may persist after a recent password change. Ensure your new password has been updated in your Mac Keychain.
  • Expired Passwords: If your password has expired, you must reset it via the MyGRCC Portal.
  • Support: If you cannot remember your password and have not set up recovery options, contact the Support Desk at 616-234-4357.
